The 2014 Tribal Public Health Emergency Preparedness Conference will be held June 17-18 in Portland, Oregon at the Doubletree Hotel. The conference is organized by the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, in collaboration with the Washington State Department of Health, Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division, Indian Health Service, American Indian Health Commission, and Northwest Center for Public Health Practice. Attendees will have opportunities to build knowledge across public health and emergency preparedness disciplines.
The Public Health Foundation (PHF) will be presenting alongside the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) on “Building a Prepared Community Volunteer Force: The Medical Reserve Corps & MRC-TRAIN.” The presentation will provide an overview of the MRC and TRAIN networks, including how they work together to support public health preparedness through professionals and volunteers. PHF will also participate in the exhibit hall, sharing information on PHF's workforce development, performance management, and quality improvement resources, tools, and programs that can supplement and support emergency preparedness operations.
Connect with PHF before, during, or after the event by following PHF and TRAIN on Twitter or posting a message to the PHF and TRAIN Facebook pages to start or continue a discussion with other public health emergency preparedness professionals, volunteer, and organizations.
