Start Date: 12/11/2014

End Date: 12/11/2014

On Thursday, December 11th from 1-2:30pm EST, join the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) for an interactive webinar, Catching Up on the Core Competencies. This webinar will focus on the recently revised Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) released by the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice in June 2014.

This webinar is an opportunity for public health professionals in local health departments to learn more about the 2014 version of the Core Competencies, changes made in this version and how these changes address feedback from the public health community, and tools available to support use of the Core Competencies. In addition, two NACCHO members, Beth Ransopher, of Columbus Public Health (OH), and Jim Jansen, of the City of Bloomington Public Health Division (MN), will discuss their use of the Core Competencies and share pointers for applying the Core Competencies within local public health.

Time will be provided for discussion about the Core Competencies, how these competencies are being used by local health departments, and what tools would help local health departments better integrate the Core Competencies into workforce development activities. Participants are encouraged to join in the discussion by sharing their own questions, suggestions, and experiences.
