National Rural Health Association

Category: Focus Area

Location: Doubletree Biltmore Hotel, 115 Hendersonville Road, Asheville

Start Date: 12/4/2012

End Date: 12/6/2012

Public Health Foundation (PHF) will be exhibiting at the Rural Multiracial and Multicultural Health Conference in Asheville, North Carolina, December 4-6, 2012.   The conference will be at the Doubletree Biltmore Hotel.

PHF envisions a strong public health system with healthy practices, people, and places. PHF will be attending this conference to provide conference attendees, who serve rural populations, information on strengthening the quality and performance of public health practice.  The obstacles faced by providers and patients in rural areas are extremely different than in urban areas; rural populations are often under-served and under-represented.

Visit PHF’s table to learn about The Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide), a free resource that provides evidence-based recommendations on many health related issues.  PHF will display information on our 2013 “I’m Your Community Guide!” Contest, which is designed for health departments; community based organizations; hospitals; universities; and others, to share how The Community Guide has helped to improve the health issues in communities.  PHF will also be providing information on our quality improvement, performance management and workforce development services, products, and resources.
