Reminder: Feedback on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals Welcome through December 31st

Time's almost up for providing feedback on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) and helping to shape the future of the public health workforce. The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) is currently reviewing and revising the Core Competencies to ensure that these competencies keep pace with changes in the field of public health and continue to reflect the skills needed by public health professionals. Feedback is being accepted from the public health community through December 31, 2013 and will help guide the revision of the Core Competencies. There are multiple mechanisms for sharing feedback, including through an online feedback form, by emailing [email protected], or on Twitter using the hashtag #phcompetencies. Visit the PHF Pulse blog post, Feedback from the Public Health Community Guiding a Revision of the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals, or the September 2013 Core Competencies Workgroup Report to learn about suggestions the Council on Linkages has heard so far. Don't miss out on this opportunity to provide your input on competencies that are used to guide and maintain a skilled public health workforce. The Council on Linkages has committed to adopting a revised set of Core Competencies by June 30, 2014. To learn more about the review and revision process and ways to provide feedback, please visit the Core Competencies review and revision process webpage or contact Kathleen Amos at [email protected]

Activities of the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice are supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
