Learn What's New with the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals
Following this summer's release of the 2014 Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies), Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice member organizations are hosting opportunities to learn more about the revised Core Competencies. Successful in-person sessions were held this month with the American Public Health Association and Association for Prevention Teaching and Research, and over the next two months, webinars will be held in collaboration with the National Association of County and City Health Officials (Thursday, December 11th from 1-2:30pm EST), Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (Friday, December 12th from 1-2pm EST), and Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (Wednesday, January 28th from 2-3pm EST). Webinars will feature an overview of the 2014 Core Competencies, changes made in this version and how these changes address feedback from the public health community, and tools available to support use of the Core Competencies, and time will be provided for discussion. Please visit the Public Health Foundation website to learn more or contact Janelle Nichols at [email protected] with questions.
