Draft AHD Research Agenda Open for Public Comment

Interested in exploring the value of academic health department (AHD) partnerships between health departments and academic institutions or best practices for partnership development? The AHD Learning Community has recently launched a new initiative to develop a research agenda focused on the AHD model to encourage research into these types of questions, and a draft of this AHD Research Agenda is now available for public comment. This initiative is being led by AHD Learning Community member Paul Campbell Erwin, MD, DrPH, University of Tennessee Department of Public Health, who spoke about the research agenda and the process through which it is being developed during a recent AHD Learning Community meeting. Visit Developing an AHD Research Agenda to view the meeting archive or download the presentation slides to learn more. Comments on the draft research agenda are being accepted through Friday, April 29, 2016 and may be shared online or by email to Kathleen Amos at [email protected]. Provide your feedback today to help shape the final version of the AHD Research Agenda!

Share Your Feedback on the Draft Competencies for Performance Improvement Professionals in Public Health

Are you a performance improvement professional? Share your feedback on the draft Competencies for Performance Improvement Professionals in Public Health! A set of discipline-specific competencies based on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals, the draft Competencies for Performance Improvement Professionals in Public Health describe skills desirable for performance improvement professionals working in public health. Presented during a webinar in February 2016, these competencies may be useful for activities such as developing job descriptions and performance objectives, creating workforce training plans, and preparing for national health department accreditation. Resources related to these competencies have recently been collected to support performance improvement efforts. Visit the blog post, Newly Available Performance Improvement Resources for the Public Health Community, to learn more, join the conversation, and share your thoughts.
