In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Learning Connection, in collaboration with the Public Health Foundation (PHF), launched CDC TRAIN. Part of the TRAIN network, CDC TRAIN has over 93,000 registered learners and 979 courses from CDC branches and funded partners on a wide array of public health and healthcare topics in the form of webinars, classroom-based trainings, and online self-study options. Since its launch, CDC TRAIN has grown exponentially — eight new learners join every hour; a learner registers for a course in CDC TRAIN every five minutes; and every six minutes, a learner completes a course in CDC TRAIN.

How to List Courses on CDC TRAIN
CDC programs, grantees and other funded partners can list courses on CDC TRAIN. If you meet these requirements you may become a course provider by visiting CDC TRAIN. At the bottom of the login box, select “Become a Course Provider” and complete the request form. If your organization is not affiliated with CDC, and you have trainings for the public health or health care community, contact PHF’s TRAIN Team to learn how to manage courses and deliver content to learners. As CDC TRAN celebrates its 3rd year, see what some CDC programs have to say about CDC TRAIN:
“Over 400 users registered for our courses. The most beneficial aspect was the ability to efficiently track user registrations and evaluation data, which are instrumental in our planning. We will continue using CDC TRAIN to meet these needs.”
— Jennifer Harris, Health Communication Specialist, CDC, Office of the Associate Director for Communication (OADC)
“Over the last 7 months, we have over 700 [course registrants], which is fantastic! It’s saving thousands of dollars in classroom delivery costs and allows us to reach our learners all over the world.”
— Janet Schulte, Public Health Education Specialist, CDC, Office of Public Health Preparedness and Responses (OPHPR), Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS)
