New Resources From the Performance Management Toolkit

Related Categories: Performance Management, Quality Improvement

Date: 12/9/2014

Since its release in June 2014, thousands of public health professionals have used the Performance Management Toolkit to find resources and tools to better understand performance management and how to develop successful performance management systems. Most recently, the Public Health Foundation (PHF) has created a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document to provide answers and guidance to those looking to improve their approach to performance management and suggestions about how the Performance Management Toolkit can help.

The Performance Management Toolkit is designed for public health professionals with the responsibility to help improve quality, performance, and outcomes of public health programs and overall activities of health departments and other public health organizations. Whether overseeing a health department’s public health accreditation preparation efforts or building an effective performance management system within an organization, the Performance Management Toolkit provides resources that may help to accomplish a variety of performance management goals.

PHF has been collecting feedback and questions from users of the toolkit who are trying to navigate performance management in their organizations. The FAQs document is comprised of these questions and related answers so that toolkit users can benefit from learning about issues their colleagues have experienced in developing and improving performance management systems.  The FAQs document will be updated over time as PHF continues to receive questions about the toolkit and performance management.

For more information about using the Performance Management Toolkit, check out the recording of PHF’s webinar, The Performance Management Toolkit: Pinpoint the Resources You Need. Viewed live on October 1, 2014 by hundreds of public health professionals interested in performance management, it is now available on the PHF website for viewing on-demand and accessible through TRAIN for those interested in keeping a record of completion in their TRAIN Transcripts (Course 1053868). This webinar walked participants through the content of the toolkit, explored key elements of this online resource, and shared tips about how to navigate this growing source of performance management resources and tools.
