CDC’s Winnable Battles are public health priorities with large-scale impact on health and with known, effective strategies to address them. Each area is a leading cause of illness, injury, disability, or death, and/or represents enormous societal costs. The goal of Winnable Battles is to make significant progress in reducing the overall health burdens and disparities from these diseases and conditions by teaming up with public health organizations to improve outcomes. Some of the focus areas include global immunization, teen pregnancy, HIV in the US, motor vehicle injuries and several more.

Public Health Foundation (PHF) has partnered with CDC to build awareness and knowledge of CDC’s Winnable Battles by offering resources, courses, and tools to be used by public health professionals to build the capacity to be successful.

PHF has added new resources to the PHF Online Bookstore that will assist state, tribal, local and territorial health departments in educating their patients and constituents with fighting Winnable Battles. New titles include 10 Good Reason Not to Be a Teenage Parent, I’m Not Ready To Have A Baby Because…, 30 Easy Ways to Eat Healthier, HIV Essentials, and 100 Questions & Answers About How to Quit Smoking. All of these materials are easy to read, include bold text, and all provide a list of detailed topics and key points.
